Information Sipline stores on your device
Sipline stores hydration log entries, daily goal, display unit, reminder preferences, Quick Sip presets, reminder state, widget snapshots, Apple Watch snapshots, pending Quick Sip logs, and goal changes, weekly recaps, recorded-day milestones, and pending Apple Health sync operations needed for app, widget, Watch, Siri, reminder, and recoverable Health sync features.
Quick Sip data can include an amount, beverage type, optional name, order, enabled state, selected default, and display unit. Pending delivered logs also keep their logged time. A pending Apple Health sync operation can include the related Sipline entry identifier, amount, time, and previously associated Health sample identifier when available.
This app data is stored using Apple platform storage technologies such as SwiftData and UserDefaults, including an App Group container so the main app, widgets, and Apple Watch surfaces can share the minimum state needed to work.
Device motion
On iPhone, Sipline uses device motion while the unobstructed Today screen is active to gently tilt the water inside Sip. Motion readings are processed on device and are not stored, transmitted, or used for tracking. The effect respects Reduce Motion.
Apple Health
Apple Health integration is optional. If you enable it, Sipline asks permission to write dietary water samples to Apple Health.
Sipline does not request permission to read your Apple Health data. Water entries are written only after you grant permission, and you can change Health permissions at any time in Apple Health or iOS Settings.
When you edit or delete a Sipline entry that was written to Apple Health, Sipline attempts to replace or remove the matching Health sample associated with that Sipline entry. Sipline targets that associated sample rather than other apps’ Health data.
If Apple Health cannot be updated immediately, your local correction remains saved. Sipline keeps a pending sync operation on your device, shows that Health needs another sync attempt, retries when the app starts or returns to the foreground, and provides a retry action in Settings. Until a retry succeeds, the earlier sample may remain temporarily in Apple Health.
Widgets, Apple Watch, and Siri Shortcuts
Sipline shares a small hydration snapshot with its widgets and Apple Watch companion using Apple App Groups and WatchConnectivity. This includes current progress, goal, status, next reminder text, and the selected default Quick Sip and enabled drink presets with their amounts, beverage types, optional names, and display units.
Siri Shortcuts and App Intents can log the selected default Quick Sip or explicitly log water. These free actions write hydration entries to the same local app database.
Free access and earlier purchases
Sipline is completely free. This version offers no in-app purchases or subscriptions and does not require purchase verification. Sipline does not receive or store payment card details.
Older installations may retain legacy purchase flags in local storage. Those flags do not restrict features in this version.
If you subscribed through an earlier version, updating or deleting Sipline does not itself cancel that subscription. Manage or cancel any remaining subscription in Apple subscription settings. Apple handles billing and refund requests for earlier purchases.
Information we do not collect
Sipline does not require an account, collect your name, email address, contacts, location, photos, camera data, microphone data, advertising identifiers, or use third-party analytics, advertising, or attribution SDKs.
Sipline does not track you across apps or websites, sell personal information, or operate a developer server that receives your hydration logs.
Crash diagnostics
Sipline uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to fix crashes and technical errors. Production versions send crash reports, app and OS versions, device information, installation and session identifiers, and technical diagnostics to Google. Reports may contain fixed screen names and Progress loading phases, but Sipline does not attach hydration history, Apple Health data, drink amounts, preset names, or account identifiers. This is used for app reliability, not advertising or cross-app tracking. More information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Website analytics
This website uses Vercel Web Analytics to measure visits and page views. Vercel provides aggregate statistics such as visited pages, referrers, country, browser and device type, without cookies for analytics or tracking you across websites. This applies only to the website; the Sipline app does not send hydration logs to Vercel. More information: https://vercel.com/docs/analytics/privacy-policy
Data retention and deletion
Hydration logs, preferences, and pending sync operations remain on your device until they are processed or you delete them, reset app data, or delete the app. Deleting a drink inside Sipline removes the local entry and, when applicable, attempts to remove the matching sample Sipline wrote to Apple Health. Deleting Sipline removes local app data from the device, subject to normal iOS backup and restore behavior.
Deleting the Sipline app itself does not automatically remove water samples already written to Apple Health. Those samples may remain in Apple Health until you delete them there.
